What is dotScrap?
dotScrap is a description for graphical content packaged for use in FotoFusion.
It is managed in a database and a related eCommerce engine managed by LumaPix.

For the user's benefit, content published as dotScrap includes:

• A unique ID, allowing the user to type a number in and find/download content automatically
• Multiple images/text/layers, so that the user can drag an object to a canvas and manipulate built-in text labels, image frames, and layers with ease
• Multiple pages; a complete album can be saved as a single template, and kits can include sample layouts.
• Built-in user interfaces; a user can browse the contents using a set of HTML pages (as seen in the Kit Preview when working with a kit)
• Keywords and other publishing attributes; the content can be referenced and found by a variety of search techniques.

From a branding perspective, dotScrap means:

• Graphics with uncompromising visual quality
• Unique, interactive content (envelopes that contain photos, paperclips that hold papers, tags that age, etc)
• Strong brands - members of the dotScrap alliance publish content that is compatible with their paper-based products.

For a publisher, the dotScrap file format includes:

• digital rights management; content purchased by one user cannot be copied or used by another
• multiple-resolution caching; users on low-speed connections can work with high-resolution content
• centralized storage of published content; a user can download dotScrap instantly from servers that are maintained by LumaPix
• royalty and commission tracking; referrers, content creators, affiliates are tracked for purchases
• micropayments; content can be sold for less than one dollar.
